trumped

A LIFE OF ITS OWN

We use the term "myth" to refer to things that are not true, but this is not the literary definition.  Myth is a genre of literature that, like all ancient literature, focuses on the significance of an event rather than the event itself.  The difference between an ancient myth and an ancient history is the degree to which the event recorded has been interpreted. - Bultman

"The Art of the Deal" made America see Trump as a charmer with an unfailing knack for business. Tony Schwartz helped create that myth—and regrets it. - By Jane Mayer

GOOD or EVIL?
DO PEOPLE LIVE IN DIFFERENT REALITIES ?

Newt Gingrech :
"It took me a long time and a number of people talking to me over the years to begin to get a sense of this: If you are a normal, white American, the truth is you don't understand being black in America and you instinctively underestimate the level of discrimination and the level of additional risk," Gingrich said.

There may be a sense in which we release angels or demons into the world when we write or speak. The idea of an 'infoshere' as a common 'cloud' to which all human minds may be 'connected' is not new. Emerging technologies make clearer  the meaning of what used to be referred to as 'channeling' and nowadays we use language like "streams of consciousness" to describe various kinds of human behaviour.

Whatever is was that Mr Schwartz had in mind when he 'created' the art of the deal; it apparently has taken on a complete life of its own. The Trump that he allegedly created is now alive and well in the individual realities of millions of American voters. For better or for worse, Mr. Schwartz would do well to resign himself to the realization that it may be too late for regrets. The genie is out of the lamp.
